GETAWAY — A local pastor and church are organizing a summer camp for children of parents who are facing addiction issues or have overdosed.

Camp GRACE (God’s Redemption at Christ’s Expense) is taking applications for the camp, which will run from Aug. 7-9.

Justin Barry, the pastor of Getaway Community Church, said the camp will provide children with spare time activities such as kayaking and swimming.

“We want to get them away from what they’re dealing with, give them the Gospel and have fun,” he said.

Applications must be received by 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, he said.
