2 arrested for drugs during South Point traffic stop

SOUTH POINT— One male and one female were arrested Wednesday evening for drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop on Solida Road near the STEM school.
Officers from the South Point Police Department and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration initiated the stop, and a K-9 unit was called to the scene, where the dog indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
During the search, seven grams of crack cocaine, and more than 100 oxycotin pills were recovered, as well as cash.
The South Point Police Department thanked Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Sisler, and K-9 Johnny for their assistance at the scene on its Facebook page.
