Academy provides opportunity

Throughout the school year, our teachers and administrators are charged with educating our children and preparing them for their next steps, whether that is moving to the next grade, graduating or starting their career.

However, an important factor in this process is the educators continuously learning as well. For many, taking advantage of a summer learning opportunity provides an environment where our teachers can evolve and be best prepared to instruct our children.

The summer academy is a wonderful collaboration between the Lawrence County Educational Services Center, Ohio University Southern and Shawnee State University that has afforded teachers the ability to learn and grow for over a decade, right here in Lawrence County.

Not only do the teachers receive knowledge, but these classes can assist with college credits.
Many times, the summer is when our teachers and administrators use their time and resources to become educated, and we applaud the efforts of the Lawrence County ESC, Ohio University Southern, Shawnee State University and those educators who take their time during the summer months each year to gain new, or reinforce, elements that will ultimately benefit our children.

We hope that this program continues for many years to come.
