PINE GROVE — They were back on the golf course.
They just had to wait a little longer.
The Ironton Country Club Ladies Nine Hole League began a new season on Tuesday but the rainy weather kept the women in the Pine Grove clubhouse a little longer than planned.
However, the women enjoyed a pot luck luncheon and conversation as they played “catch up” from the long winter months.
This week’s hostess’ duties were fulfilled by Pat Lambert. The ladies were paired up for tee off at 10 a.m. after a brief 9:30 business meeting.
Events were selected and when the sun returned so did the ladies to the golf course.
Event winners were Pat Riggs, Betty Fraley and Lambert.
The previous week Pat Riggs served as hostess and she announced the winners prior to lunch. The winners included two by Sharon Fox and one each by Fraley and Lambert.
New members are always welcomed to join the group and do not need to join the Ironton Country Club to become a Ladies Nine Hole member.
Anyone interested may contact a club member or call the clubhouse at (740) 532-2511.
The group meets each Tuesday with a 9:30 a.m. business meeting followed by golfing events. Next week’s hostess is Betty Fraley.
