Students from Fairland High School present Willy Wonka for this year’s theater production. Show times will be at 7 p.m. Friday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Fairland High School to perform ‘Willy Wonka’

ROME TOWNSHIP — Students at Fairland High have been in dress rehearsals this week, getting ready for this week’s performance of Willy Wonka.

The performance is based on the 1971 musical “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” starring Gene Wilder and Jack Albertson, an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s novel “Charlie and the Chocolate factory.”

The run kicks off tonight at 7 p.m., teacher Chris Shew, who is directing, said.

Additional performances are set for at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $8 or free for children under age 5.
