PEDRO — Call AEP. The Rock Hill Redwomen used a little extra juice Tuesday.
The Redwomen lit up the scoreboard for 10 runs and 12 hits en route to a 10-6 win over the Lucasville Valley Lady Indians.
“We played with high energy tonight. When we have a positive mindset, good things happen,” said Rock Hill coach Brooke Long.
Lucasville took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first but Rock Hill got a run back in the bottom of the inning.
Hairston singled, Grace Stevens reached on an error and Anna Darby was safe on a throwing error as Hairston scored.
The Lady Indians got the run back in the second but Rock Hill tied the game in the third.
Hairston reached on an error, moved to second when Stevens hit into a fielder’s choice and scored on Darby’s base hit.
Tori Pancake singled and Rileigh Morris was safe on an error as Darby scored.
The Redwomen took the lead in the fourth with three runs.
Taylor Hall tripled, Samantha Stamper bunted for a hit and advanced to second. Baylie Harrah singled home Hall, Stevens grounded out as Stamper scored and Harrah came home on an error.
After Valley got two runs in the top of the fifth, Rock Hill got a run scored in the bottom of the frame when Hall singled and came around to score when Stamper drilled a double deep into right field and it was 7-5.
Rock Hill added three insurance runs in the sixth.
Hairston was safe on an error and Stevens and Pancake singled for a run. Morris followed with an RBI single and Madison Harper grounded out as Pancake scored.
