More than 25 wrestlers on card
A wrestling event that will feature more than 25 former TNA and former WWE wrestlers from all over the world is set to take over the Ro-Na Theater on Saturday.
“The whole idea behind the event is that wrestling used to be dominant in this area,” event promoter Joe Pace said. “Lately, nothing has been going on here in wrestling, and there are a ton of wrestling fans in the area.”
The event is sponsored by Failure to Conform Entertainment (FTC). Pace said the reason he wanted to put the event on was to bring something to Ironton and the Tri-State.
“I wanted to bring wrestling back to the Tri-State area, and bring something back to Ironton,” Pace said. “This is going to be a family-friendly presentation that everyone can enjoy.”
Some of the bigger stars taking the ring on Saturday are “The Welsh Warrior” Rob Terry, Renee Michelle, Chance Prophet and Gabi Castrovinci.
“I’ve wanted to do this for a few years now, but I started organizing this in October of last year,” Pace said. “I purchased a ring, sound equipment and an entrance ramp, and worked with the Friends of Ironton, who have been a big help.”
At the event, there will be three big screens, one on each side and one in the back, and each wrestler will have their own entrance music and video.
Pace said that assuming the event goes well, he hopes to put on a bi-monthly wrestling product every two months at various locations in the area.
General admission tickets are $12, children ages 4-9 are $10 and VIP tickets, which offer a 30-minute early entry, premium seating and a meet and greet are $20.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday with the first bell kicking off the first match at 7 p.m.
