Donna Gullett
June 30, 1934 — Jan. 26, 2017
Donna Rose Gullett, of South Point, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at home. She was 82 years of age. Born June 30, 1934, in Chapmanville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bonnie (Covert) Sanders.
Donna is survived by her husband, James F. Gullett; son, Terry Spears, of Cadiz, Kentucky; daughter, Robin Sturgill, of South Point; two stepchildren, Steve Gullett, of Mentor, and Teresa Truxel, of Lima; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Frye, Deanna Roberts and Ruby Eileen McCloud; and one brother, Ernest Sanders.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Kathleen Workman, Doris Mullins and Mary Sanders; five brothers, Alfred Sanders, James Sanders, Gary Sanders, Sydney Sanders and Bobby Sanders; a daughter, Debra Abbott; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastors Aaron Childers and Rock Dearfield officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Carl Niemer
May 21, 1937 — Jan. 28, 2017
Carl David “Tuck” Niemer, 79, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Wheelersburg native was born May 21, 1937, a son of the late Frank and Anna Hock Niemer.
Mr. Niemer was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School and was member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. Tuck was a long time employee of New Boston Coke Plant and Ironton Coke plant, where he had 40 years of service before retiring in 2000. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Green Bobcats. Tuck also loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, and over the years, he spent a lot of time at the ball field as a Little League coach, helping kids to become better ball players.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Williams Niemer; and brother, George Niemer.
He is survived by son, Randall J. (Melissa) Niemer, of Orlando, Florida; son, Rodney Lee (Tammie) Niemer, of Haverhill; special granddaughter, Stephanie (Delby) Salisbury, of Bridgeport; grandchildren, RJ (Jennifer) Niemer, of Wheelersburg, Holly Niemer Brown, of Franklin Furnace, Ryan Niemer, of Ironton, and Max Niemer, of Orlando, Florida; nine great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Halli, Abigail, Tucker, Emma, Addison, Samantha, Sophia and Levi; brother, Frank (Eleanor) Niemer, of Dayton; and sister-in-law, Patti Niemer, of Boise, Idaho.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Wheelersburg with Father Joseph Yokum officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. There will also be a Rosary service starting at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday evening at the closing of visitation. Betty Jordan
June 18, 1928 — Jan. 27, 2017
Betty Jean Jordan, 83, went to be with the Lord Jan. 27, 2017. She was the widow of Caanan Frank Jordan, whom she married on April 27, 1952. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky, June 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Richard Delbert and Lillian Phillips Click.
She was a homemaker and member of Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Delbert and Eileen Jordan and Frank Jordan, of Ironton; grandchildren include, Josh and Letha Jordan, William (Spankie) and Stephanie Jordan; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, with Bob Duding officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Leatherwood Cemetery.

Christopher Lynn Harris, 47, of Columbus, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, in Columbus. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton, with the Rev.
