Although it is likely that families throughout Lawrence County have opened all the gifts, trees and decorations will soon be taken down and Christmas has passed, it is important to recreate that sense of selflessness and giving throughout 2017.
This year has brought hardships for so many throughout our region, and we are extremely fortunate that so many make it their goal to help as many as possible.
2016 was no different.
It can be difficult to maintain this level of community spirit all year long. However, if we can continue even a small portion of that kindheartedness, we will all benefit through next year.
Our ability to give without expecting for anything in return is one of the many special things about Lawrence County and its residents. But just because the season of giving is over doesn’t mean we should ever stop being the best versions of ourselves all year long.
Next week, we start a new year, and one of the resolutions we should all try to have on our list is to continue our strong belief in helping one another.
