St. Paul Lutheran in 13th year of giveaway

St. Paul Lutheran Church will have its 13th annual Christmas with Dignity on Dec. 10, and signups have been scheduled for the last week in November.

Last year, the food giveaway fed about 500 families, said Jeannine Tordiff, chairperson for the event.

“The goal is 600 boxes this year,” Tordiff said.

The giveaway is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 10, but those who wish to participate must register in advance.

Registration will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 28-29.

Tordiff said the giveaway is food boxes that can feed a family of four for a week and includes items such as frozen meats, fruit and vegetables, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and other baked items and boxed foods.

The event is made possible through a partnership between St. Paul, All Saints Lutheran Church in Worthington and Lutheran Social Services Mobile Food Pantry.
