Donald Crance

Sept. 28, 1926 — Nov. 9, 2016

Donald Leo Crance, 90, formerly from Ironton, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 in Gallipolis at his home. He was born in Ironton on Sept. 28, 1926, to the late Clarence Elmer (Red) and Marguerite Ryan Crance. He was the husband of the late Barbara G. Bingham Crance. He began his banking career in 1950 with the First National Bank of Ironton and retired as President of U.S. Bank of Gallipolis in 1986. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church of Gallipolis. He was a member of the Lions Club. He was a WWII U.S. veteran serving on the LST 911. He saw action in the South Pacific.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Mark Crance and Ashley Crance; and two brothers, Joe Crance and Richard Crance.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Ruth Ann Crance, of Evansville, Indiana, John and Vickie Crance, of Irvine, Kentucky, Rick Crance, of Ironton, and Dan and Sue Crance, of Summerville, South Carolna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Gary Geswein, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Julie and Jeff Dunlap, of Gallipolis. Grandchildren include Don and Sterling Crance, Amy and Ethan Herrera, Sally and Jeremy Satterwhite, Luke and Elizabeth Crance, Beth and Dave Blevins, Ryan and Sara Crance, Mathew and Beth Crance, Kristopher and Maria Geswein, Jeff Geswein, Bill Geswein, Bobbi Dunlap, Katie Dunlap, James Daniel Crance and Kari Ann Crance, Madlynne and Zach Golden. Great-grandchildren include Christopher Crance, Janell Crance , Jack Satterwhite, Anna Satterwhite, Taylor Blevins, Tessa Blevins, Ellis Blevins, Austin Crance, Ashley Crance, Be`la Crance, Reese Crance., Coen Crance, Trent Herrera, Michael Herrera, Laura Beth Crance, Owen Crance, Coen Geswein, McClain Geswein, Greyson Crance, and Ezra Golden.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Post 8850 will perform Military graveside services.

Lona Scott

Lona Lou Verne Scott, 90, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, suddenly at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Jeff Black and pastor Mike Smith.  Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Hazel Cleary

Dec. 18, 1926 — Nov. 4, 2016

Hazel Marie (Roberts) Cleary, beloved wife of the late Albert E. Cleary and loving mother to Janet (Philip Bender) Cleary and Robert “Bob” (Cheryl) Cleary, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the age of 89 years at Community Hospice of Ashland.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1926, in Kenova, West Virginia. She was the grandmother of Bethany (Jarrod) Smith, Tommi Kay Hopper, Megan (Ken) Milar, Bobby (Kara) Cleary, Brennan (Darius) Lewis and Chelsea (Aaron) Butler. She had 18 great-grandchildren, Kaden Cleary, Madelien, Gunnar, Baylor and Barrette Smith; Aureline, Azalyn and Astrid Lewis; Kaylee, Kylie and Caleb Hopper; Carson Palmer; Braeden, Teagan, Rowan and Evan Milar; and Elijah and Benjamin Butler. Hazel was a wonderful homemaker and a devout Christian. She was a devoted daughter of the late Romanza (Thompson) and Harry Roberts. She is also survived by a special cousin, Jenny Wilson. Sheila Graham

Sheila Anne Graham, 59, of Proctorville, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Corky Graham. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Nancy Young

Nancy Carol Young, 80, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. She is survived by her husband, Leon Young. Melissa Scott

Melissa Jane Scott, 47, of Raceland, Kentucky, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center of Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her wife, Beverly Wages Scott.
