Thank you Ironton Street Department

I would like to thank our street department for changing the lane markings at the intersection of State Route 141 and Liberty Avenue.

The newly painted arrows now ease the right turn flow of traffic into town and relieve some of the congestion around the U.S. 52 interchange. I know the street department personnel are busy and their efforts are not unappreciated.

I notice the numerous holes in the streets are being filled on a continuing basis and that the streets are being patched quickly after the seemingly endless water line breaks.

These are very time consuming, labor intensive tasks which makes me all the more appreciative that they could find the time to change the markings.

With the scarcity of resources facing small towns everywhere, everyone is having to do more with less and our town is no exception. But, in spite of the obstacles, our city workers continue to provide the needed services to us all. A lot of us are quick to speak out to criticize, myself included, but remain conspicuously silent when we see something going right.

To our street department, and all the other city workers, I extend a heartfelt thank you.
