Ron Brammer
1943 — Oct. 20, 2016
Ron Brammer, 73, of Coal Grove passed away Oct. 20, 2016, after a long extended illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Zura Brammer; infant brother, Tommy; and wife, Rita Adkins Brammer. He leaves behind two daughters, Vickie (Brad) Hart, of North Canton, Ohio, and Barbara (Jeff) Repass, of Bandera Texas; sister, Diana (Craig) Gillette, of Ruskin Florida; niece “Little Mush” Nikki (Ryan)Bentley; and great niece, Lexi Bentley.
Ron was a member of the Sheridan Baptist Church and was owner/Operator of Arrow Concrete Ready Mix in Coal Grove. Ron enjoyed playing sports in his younger days, fishing, the boy scouts, watching high school football and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. For many years, he raised and showed pigeons.

Neva Self
May 16, 1920 — Oct. 20, 2016
Neva Self, 96, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at the Sanctuary of Ohio Valley in Ironton, Ohio. The Wilgus, Ohio native was born May 16, 1920, the daughter of the late Vincent Massie and Annie Reynolds Massie.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Self, who passed away Sept. 11, 1989.
Neva was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church at Johns Creek. She worked a various nursing homes and retired from Edgemeade as housekeeping supervisor after 8 years, due to health problems.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: six brothers, Ben, John, Griffith, Vincent, William and Nick Massie; two sisters, Eva Massie Pinkerman and Evie Massie; two nephews raised in home, George and Alex Pinkerman; and grandson, Jerry Lee Corbin.
She is survived by four stepchildren, Patty (Henry) Self Dillon, Charles (Beverly) Self, Robert (Brenda) Self and Gregory (Pat) Self; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a special niece, Lee Ann Gillispie, and a special neighbor, Lawrence Chinn.
She helped with the raising of her sister, Eva’s children after her passing, Alexander and George Pinkerman and Eva Pinkerman Phipps.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, with Pastor Daniel Haydon officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Deloris A. Bocook, 86, of Barboursville, West Virginia, died Friday Oct. 21, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.

Gary Barnhart
Jan. 9, 1957 — Oct. 21, 2016
Gary Dee Barnhart, 59, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland. The Ironton native was born Jan. 9, 1957, the son of the late Charles “Zeke” Barnhart and Freda Sharp Barnhart.
Gary attended the Ironton City Mission Church. He was an avid Reds fan who loved fishing and watching John Wayne movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Barnhart; brother, Tommy Barnhart; maternal grandparents, Artie and Evelyn Sharp of Oak Hill, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Charles Barnhart, Elizabeth Barnhart Ratliff and Raymond Ratliff of Pedro.
He is survived by sister, Carletta (Don) Forbushm of Kitts Hill; sister, Pam (James) Plessingerm of Kitts Hill; brother, Charles David (Linda) Barnhartm of Circleville, Ohio; brother, Toby (Barbie) Barnhartm of Lavalette, West Virginia; brother, John (Angie Ray) Barnhart, of Hanging Rock; sister, Paulette (Donnie) Klaibermm of Ironton; aunt, Yvonne Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio; uncle and aunt, F.D. and Gail Barnhart, of Pedro; uncle and aunt, John and Eloise Sharp, of Oak Hill, Ohio; uncle and aunt, Steve and Sandra Sickles of Jackson, Ohio; and special friend, Joyce Ferguson.

Lawrence E. Baumgardner, 84, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 25, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by Henry Smith. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday October 24, 2016 at the funeral home. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites.

Lois DenBeste Uittenbogaard, 100, of Chesapeake, Ohio died Oct. 5, 2016.
A memorial service will be at Second Presbyterian Church of Huntington, West Viginia, on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Sheldon, Iowa at a later time.

Joyce C. Leighty, 86, of South Point, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at River’s Bend Health Care, in Burlington.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point, with Pastor Robert Carter and Ross McCollum officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.
