Ladies Nine Hole League enjoys eventful final outing

PINE GROVE — The final day almost felt like an entire season packed into a single Tuesday.
The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club held its final regular season Tuesday outing last week that featured Couples Day.
A total of 10 couples attended the Couples Day event. They included:
Pat and Doug Lambert; Georgia and Carlos Willis; Joyce and Ralph Lewis; Pat and Jim Riggs; Betty and Lonnie Fraley; Margaret Donley and John Lutz; Connie and Randy Chamberlin; Sharon Fox and Bob Smith; Rose Auble and Marty Lewis; and Wanda Spears and Mort Willis.
After some breakfast treats, the golfers hit the course for several events.
The low putts winners were Betty and Lon Fraley. The men’s longest drive went to Randy Chamberlin and the women’s drive to Margaret Donley.
The women’s longest putt was won by Betty Fraley while John Lutz came away as the winner of the closest to the pin.
The group elected officers for next season with Pat Lambert selected as the chairman.
Vice-chairman went to Sharon Fox, Joyce Lewis was named the secretary and Pat Lambert will serve as treasurer.
The Sunshine Chairmen will be Connie Chamberlin, Betty Fraley and Pat Riggs. Fraley will also organize tournaments.
Finally, the ladies’ group expressed their sincere appreciation to Lynn and Burl Bunker and Cliff Jenkins of the clubhouse for all their help throughout the year and for all the jobs they do.
