Humane officer sought

The Lawrence County Commissioners and the Lawrence County Humane Society are seeking applicants for a part-time county humane officer to investigate complaints of cruelty, neglect, abuse and abandonment of animals.
The officer will also rescue sick or injured domestic animals and help to educate the public and increase awareness.
Duties would include but not be limited to collecting and providing documentation and evidence of investigations through reports, witnesses, photos, videos or other means; issue notifications of citation to potential offenders or owners; file charges, testify in court cases and assist in the prosecution of charges of animal cruelty and neglect; interact with local county and federal law enforcement to investigate animal welfare issues; respond to requests from other agencies for emergency assistance with neglected, abused, sick injured or abandoned animals.
Requirements are high school diploma or equivalent; one or more years of animal humane officers experience; valid driver’s license; Ohio Peace Office Certification; and must be Lawrence County resident.
