Event is food pantry’s biggest fundraiser
An Ironton food pantry is preparing to host its biggest fundraiser of the year.
A fall festival for Harvest for the Hungry will take from noon-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 between Center Street and Fifth and Sixth streets in Ironton, director Diane Porter said.
“We normally do a concert, but this year, we’ve teamed up with a youth minister to make it more family-oriented,” she said.
Musical acts will include Sasha Colette and Kelley’s Bridge.
A pie eating contest is scheduled and inflatables, food vendors and cornhole games will be on hand.
Porter said admission to the event will be free, but there will a fee for some games and chances to win prizes as part of the fundraiser.
