Manufacturing facility will more than double current footprint

WORTHINGTON, Ky. — Portable Solutions Group, Inc. recently announced it is expanding its manufacturing operations with an additional location in Wurtland, Kentucky, to accommodate the rapid growth in current and future orders.

PSG chief executive officer and president Robert Slagel signed the lease agreement, saying, “With current operations at our Worthington location running three shifts 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the need for additional space was inevitable.”

Located just two miles away from the Scott Street location, the additional manufacturing space will provide a perfect shipping container modification area for PSG. Complete with overhead cranes and more than 50,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space, the new location will more than double the company’s current manufacturing footprint.

“We are going to continue manufacturing out of our current facility at 801 Scott St. in Worthington, but really just need more space to keep up with our customer needs,” Slagel said. “An abundance of orders and the need for additional manufacturing space is a great problem to have and we’re excited about the opportunities this new facility provides.”

The Wurtland facility is currently owned by the J.H. Fletcher & Co., and PSG will enter into a multi-year, progressive lease agreement with the company to assume the floor space required for the additional manufacturing capacity.

“It’s been clear through this negotiation process that the folks at J.H. Fletcher have the same passion as PSG for job creation, protecting employees, and improving the Tri State,” Slagel said. “The attitude on both sides of the table has been focused on continued job creation for the Tri-State. It’s obvious to me that the team at J.H. Fletcher & Co. has been successful for so many years because of the passion they have for their people. It’s an honor to work with them.”

PSG is a global leader in providing portable jobsite solutions for industrial and commercial construction companies, governments and the military. By offering turnkey ISO shipping container modifications for a wide range of jobsite solutions, PSG continues to expand its customer base around the world.

“PSG’s new manufacturing space will allow us to increase our shipping container modification capabilities for key customers and to meet the demand of increasing orders for those customers around the world,” Slagel said. “The new space will allow us to expand our manufacturing operations to support orders already on the books for 2017, as well as meet the need for new orders and the growth we’re experiencing. Our team is excited about the growth we’ve experienced over the past couple of years and this expansion represents a commitment to build on our team’s successes and keep our momentum going strong.”
