PROCTORVILLE — Brickhouse Cardio Club in Proctorville celebrated the opening of their new facility with an open house on Saturday.

The new location, at 520 State St., was constructed over the summer and opened on Sept. 1.

Saturday’s event served as a grand opening for the facility. Owner Angie George, who instructs classes at the location, said it was “packed” early in the morning.

“We’ve had a very productive and great open house,” she said. “We’re excited about that.”

In addition to regulars who frequently used the old location, she said many newcomers made a visit.

“We’ve had a lot of new faces stop by,” she said.

Saturday’s open house allowed visitors to sample the offerings of the program and a one-day special was offered on membership.

“We’ve offered everything,” George said. “From strength training to cardio classes.”

She said the No. 1 advantage of the building was space.

“We can offer two fitness classes at one time, as well as specialty training,” she said, adding that the location, which is closer to the bridge to Huntington, makes it more attractive to West Virginia residents.

The building, which boasts, 4,800 square feet, features an additional fitness room, as well as bathrooms, a changing area and a larger children’s room. The location employs a staff of 10.

Brickhouse opened in Rome Township in 2013 and has locations throughout the country.
