PORTSMOUTH — Tennis is taking center stage this week with the U.S. Open. It’s also getting a lot of attention from the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers.

Ironton beat the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans 4-1 on Tuesday at Shawnee State University.

Picking up wins for Ironton were No. 1 singles player Aleigha Justice, No. 2 player Kara Spencer, No. 1 doubles team of Rachel Sanders and Sophia Caines along with the No. 2 team of Savannah Friend and Sydney Webb.

The Lady Fighting Tigers will host Jackson on Thursday, Sept. 8.
