WILLOW WOOD — There’s a lot of fight in the the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ volleyball team.

The Lady Vikings battled from start to finish as they rallied to beat the South Gallia Lady Rebels in five sets on Monday.

South Gallia took a 25-22 win in the first set. Symmes Valley won the second set 25-6 but South Gallia took a thrilling 28-26 third set.

The Lady Vikings them tied the match with a 25-18 win and took the tiebreaker 15-8.

Hannah Gates had 22 points including seven aces for the Lady Vikings. Taylor Webb and Kinley Patterson combined for 24 kills — Webb had 13 and Patterson 11 — while Webb also had four blocks.

Sierra Ross totaled 24 assists.

The Lady Vikings host Green at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in a varsity-only match.
