PINE GROVE — The bark of the Dog Days of Summer haven’t been able to scare off the Ladies Nine Hole League.
Despite the heat, the Ladies Nine Hole Association of the Ironton Country Club continued its regular Tuesday outing last week.
Hostess Sharon Fox served the breakfast treats — it was bacon, not beggin’ strips — and announced the day’s events.
Georgia Willis and Becky Dillow growl at the challenge as they won two events each while Fox shed her hostess duties long enough to win an event.
Also, the Golf Classic Tournament is scheduled to begin this Tuesday.
During the group’s business meeting the women offered praise to Cliff Jenkins and his staff at the Ironton Country Club for the outstanding job they have done to keep the course in great shape during the warm summer.
The group meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesday for a brief business meeting followed by golfing at 9:30. This week’s hostess is Connie Chamberlin.
New members are always welcome.
