Boil water advisory in South Point

SOUTH POINT–– Due to a water line repair in South Point on Wednesday, the South Point Water Department is advising residents on the following streets to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene: Third Street E. and Second Street E. and all streets turning off these streets from Davidson Street to Hooper Drive (by McMean’s Pharmacy).
The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. However, the possibility does exist and the department is issuing this advisory as a precaution. If no further notice is given after Saturday, then samples are normal and the water is safe.
