Man found dead in bed

SOUTH POINT — Law enforcement officials are investigating an early morning apparent homicide.

A call came into the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 5:57 a.m. today.

“Officers discovered an unknown black male approximately 30 years old lying in a bed with what appears to be a gunshot wound to the head,” Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said.

The investigation is in the early stages, the sheriff said.

South Point Police, Ohio BCI and the coroner’s office are assisting in the investigation.
