Starting in the next few weeks, our youth throughout Lawrence County will head back for another school year. A new school year can always bring excitement but nervousness as well.
Many students are enthusiastic to see many of their friends, who went their separate ways a few short months ago.
While the focus is typically on the kids, it is a time of change for parents as well.
Many times, our youth face many pressures that the parents and grandparents didn’t face during their school year. This can be especially true for those who may be going to a new school or transitioning from elementary to middle school or high school.
The best thing we can do as parents and school districts is to continually create a positive environment both at school and home for our youth.
Those factors mean to stay engaged in their academics and other extracurricular activities. These will create a solid foundation to build upon.
Additionally, community support and supporting the school districts is an essential component for overall success.
Creating these elements will ultimately develop a successful and prosperous school year for our future.
