Owners dress up for special contest
Jingle, the 4-year-old dachshund, was in her element on Saturday at the Ironton Farmers Market.
She won most original at the inaugural Dress Your Dog contest sponsored by Ironton In Bloom.
“She loves dressing up,” Missy Coburn, her owner, said. “ You get out a suitcase, she goes nuts.”
Belle, a 9-year-old cocker spaniel poodle mix, dressed in red, white and blue, won People’s Choice, a honor that came from the applause of the crowd. And best look-alike was won by Ebony, dressed for a day on the construction site, owned and shown by Cole Williams. Ebony is a 8-year-old boxer.
This Saturday Ironton In Bloom members dished out hot dogs as part of its monthly food festival. Next month on the second Saturday will be corn festival next Saturday.
Starting at 10 a.m. Harvest for the Hungry food pantry will give out nachos with all the fixings to get donations for the pantry.
