CHESAPEAKE — Riverside Recovery Services is planning a family fun day in Chesapeake for Saturday.
The drug rehabilitation program, which has been open in the village since October, is offering the event as an option for sober fun for the community.
“It’s just to let the community know what we do and who we are,” executive director Amy Smart said. “It’s to put a positive spin, and educate the community as well.”
The event, set for Chesapeake Park from 1-4 p.m., will feature entertainment from a live band, two bounce houses and free food.
“All of our staff will be there,” Smart said. “We’ll have freebies for the kids, and anyone else who wants to partake.”
Riverside Recovery Services, located on Second Avenue, offers drug and alcohol counseling on an outpatient basis. The group plans to open a men’s home in the village later this year.
