2 ordinances, resolutions on agenda

Ironton City Council will hear two ordinances and two resolutions at its first meeting of March.
The first reading of Ordinance 16-14, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute an agreement with E.L. Robinson Engineering Company, Inc. regarding the Ironton general engineering services for 2016, will be given. The ordinance was favorably recommended in finance committee by Kevin Waldo and seconded by Craig Harvey.
The first reading will be given of Ordinance 16-17, to adopt the annual operating budget for the city of Ironton for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2016, and declaring an emergency. Each department is setting forth amounts for salaries and other expenses. The finance committee has been meeting with each department head about their budgets as well as the department heads expressing concerns and issues that may need to amend the budget later on. Kevin Waldo favorably recommended the ordinance for all budget requests that had been presented so far in finance committee with Craig Harvey seconding.
Resolutions on the agenda include:
Resolution 16-16, fixing the number and compensation of certain employees of the city of Ironton and declaring an emergency. The salaries stated shall remain in effect for all of 2016. Kevin Waldo favorably recommended the resolution in finance committee with Craig Harvey seconding.
Resolution 16-18, authorizing the vice mayor, Craig Harvey, to be named as a signatory on all accounts at all financial institutions on behalf of the city of Ironton and declaring an emergency.
Ironton City Council begins at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
