The Bon Secours Kentucky Health System (BSKHS) has donated $17,000 to the United Way of Northeast Kentucky (UWNEK). The money was raised during the health system’s annual United Way campaign and presented to UWNEK during a ceremony on the campus of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH).
“I am proud of what we were able to do with this year’s campaign,” BSKHS CEO Kevin Halter said. “We’re strong supporters of United Way because I believe it offers one of the best opportunities to maximize charitable giving. Nowhere else does your donation support so many while staying local. I believe our employees have a unique perspective on the work of United Way because they see the support the organization provides to OLBH’s Meals on Wheels program.”
OLBH’s Meals on Wheels program assists with meals being delivered five days a week to elderly or disabled people with food being prepared by a variety of vendors and delivered by volunteers.
“We’re very appreciative of the Bon Secours Kentucky Health System and its employees for this wonderful donation,” UWNEK CEO Jerri Compton said. “OLBH has long been a supporter of the work that we do at United Way, and we couldn’t be more pleased that they are continuing with that legacy of giving.”
UWNEK is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that works with more than 60 local programs to improve lives in neighborhoods, schools and workplaces. For more information concerning the Bon Secours Kentucky Health System, visit olbh.com or call the OLBH CareLine at 606-833-CARE (2273).
