Juanita Lewis

Juanita Kathleen (Wilson) Lewis, 88, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley in Ironton . The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 27, 1927, a daughter to the late Ovid and Gertrude (Orthmeyer) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lewis, who passed away in 2003.

Mrs. Lewis attended Pedro schools. Juanita was a former housekeeper for over 20 years at the Ohio Center.  She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Lewis and Michael Lewis; three brothers, Ralph, Franklin and Ronald “Pete” Wilson; and two sisters, Kay Wilson and Donna Houston.

Juanita is survived by two sons, Robert E. “Dink” (Sharon) Lewis of South Point and Scott (Jennifer) Lewis of Ironton; two daughters, Judy (Bobby) Barnhart of New Albany and Sherry (Dane) Wilds of Ironton; two sisters, Joann (Jack) Wade of Ravenswood, West Virginia  and Janet (Frank) Harmon of Coal Grove; a sister-in-law, Judy Wilson of Ironton; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Lewis of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Dave Schug officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m.  until the time of service at the funeral home.
