Ohio volleyball all-stars battle to win over Kentucky all-stars

SOUTH POINT — In the return of the Ohio vs. Ky senior all-star match, the Ohio team won in a hard fought battle of 5 sets. 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 17-25, 15-10.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to coach so many talented girls from the OVC,” said Ohio coach Janice Rosier of Gallipolis Gallia Academy.
The Ohio team’s service leaders were Carley Lester (Chesapeake) with 4 aces and 17 service points and Elizabeth Wilds (Rock Hill) had 2 aces and 11 service points.
Offensively the Ohio team was lead by Atiya Spaulding (Chesapeake) with 13 kills and Olivia Abner (South Point) with 10 kills.
Jordan Hannan (Ironton) set the offense and led the team with a total of 34 assists.
Defensively the team was led by Lester with 19 digs while Spaulding and Abner had 13 digs.
Jordan Walker (Gallia Academy) controlled the net with 4 blocks.
