Santa Claus to appear on Thanksgiving
BURLINGTON — The security system the Concerned Citizens of Burlington installed at the Burlington Commons this summer has eliminated the drug situation there, according to Ed Moellendick, president of the organization.
“Drug activity has ceased,” he said. “After we installed eight cameras, everyone disappeared. The cameras have been a tremendous success.”
The organization had fundraisers to raise $5,400 for the equipment while 12 volunteers did the installation.
Moellendick said the Concerned Citizens want to know what Aqua America is going to do with the water tower that the company recently pulled out of service. The tower displays the name of Burlington across its face
“We want to see it gone because of the danger,” Moellendick said. “It could topple.”
If the tower is removed, he would like to see the parcel it is on returned to the Commons.
On Thanksgiving evening the Concerned Citizens will turn on the Christmas lights at the Commons. Starting at 5 p.m. Santa Claus will take toy orders from the children.
