Holiday events planned for senior center

CHESAPEAKE — The Sybene/Chesapeake Senior Center has a number of events lined up for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
A Thanksgiving dinner will be Friday, Darlene Greene, the center’s director said.
The center is located in Chesapeake, next to the village’s community center, but the dinner will be at First Baptist Church in Proctorville, in order to accommodate a larger number of people, she said. Entertainment will start at 11 a.m. and food will be served at noon. The cost is $5. Greene said those attending may bring a covered dish.
A Black Friday auction will be at the Chesapeake center from 9 a.m. to noon. on Dec. 4. Proceeds from the event will go to funding for the center.
A Christmas bingo event is scheduled 11 a.m. on Dec. 9 at the center. A Christmas party will be at 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 11. A Christmas craft demonstration will be offered at 10:30 on Dec. 16. Admission to these events is free.
A Christmas dinner will top off the holiday events on Dec. 18, with entertainment beginning at 11 a.m. and food served at noon. It will be at First Baptist Church in Proctorville. The cost is $5 and attendees may bring a covered dish.
