Applications for nursing home residents and uniform military and overseas citizens to vote absentee in the upcoming runoff election to determine Ironton mayor is noon Saturday at the Lawrence County Board of Elections’ office.
They can be printed off from the board’s website. BOE staffers will take the absentee ballots to those in nursing homes where it will be voted. UOCAVA voters can fax the application back and receive a ballot via fax.
The board will be at the office conducting the official canvas. There are two close races that could possibly change with provisional ballots: Symmes Valley Board of Education where there are five votes between second and third place — Kent Wells and Mike Wall; and Proctorville village mayor where there are two votes between candidates Brian Root and Richard Dunfee.
