SOUTH POINT — South Point’s new interim village administrator has only been on the job a little more than a week, but he’s already keeping busy.
Russ McDonald worked this week on new water tie-in projects, including valve insertions for the new Family Dollar on Solida Road.
McDonald said the project was complete, and that the store is expected to open by the end of year.
He said he plans to work on changing the village’s valves over the next few months.
“We have valves that haven’t been changed since 1957,” he said. “We’ll be removing old ones and putting in new ones.”
He said the village will also be replacing old fire hydrants as part of the work.
McDonald was named as the interim village administrator, following the resignation of Pat Leighty in October.
