SOUTH POINT — Due to a water line break this morning, South Point Utilities is advising residents on the South Point Water System to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene.

The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist, however, and is issuing this advisory as a precaution.

If no further notice is given after Thursday,the samples are normal and the water is safe.
