Jam tasting set for Lawrence County Museum

The Lawrence County Museum is set to host its second annual jam and jelly tasting on Saturday.
The tasting was begun last year as a way to bring jam and jelly makers from around the community together.
“It’s just something we try to do for the community,” said Kay Raider, museum volunteer. “We thought we’d be pioneers (by hosting the event).”
Eight participants entered their jams and jellies in the tasting last year. The museum would like to draw a larger number of entries this year, said Raider.
“We encourage the community to come and bring what they make,” she said.
Guests at the tasting will be able to sample a variety of fruit jams and jellies and biscuits or toast will be provided. Guests will be able to vote on the jam or jelly they like most and will be able to tour the museum.
Raider encouraged locals to come out to the tasting for “a good time.”
The tasting event is schedule from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrence County Museum in Ironton.
