SOUTH POINT — Due to a water line break today in South Point, the South Point Water Department is advising residents on the following streets to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene:
Fourth Street West at rail road crossing west to the Point Industrial Park entrance including all streets in the industrial park, Davidson Street including Third Street West and Spence Street, Sharon Court., Lou, Marie, Southern Heights., Thomas Avenue, Mills Street and Collins Avenue.
The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist however and is issuing this advisory as a precaution.
If no further notice is given after Thursday, then the samples are normal and the water is safe.
