Nancy Neal

Dec. 14, 1934-March 6, 2015

Nancy Louise Moore Neal , 80, of Ironton, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at her residence.  Mrs. Neal was born Dec. 14, 1934, a daughter to the late Ferman and Louise  (Martin) Moore.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Neal, who passed away May 24, 2008.

Mrs. Neal was a 1952 graduate of Ironton High School.  She was a former LPN for Lawrence County General Hospital and Bryant’s Health Center in Ironton.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Genealogy Society. She also taught and enjoyed line dancing.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother,  William “Bill” Moore.

She is survived by son, Gary Lee Neal, Jr. of Ironton; two daughters,  Toni Lynn Neal and Joni Louise Neal, both of Ironton; eight grandchildren,  Allison Combs of Chesapeake, Amber Lewis of Ironton, Sydney Lewis of Ironton, James Lewis, Jr. of Ironton, Justin Mahlmeister of Ironton, Nicholas Neal of Arizona, Morgan Mahlmeister of Ironton and Brooklynn Moore of Ironton; two brothers,  James (Suzie) Moore of Florida and Rick (Diane) Moore of Cincinnati; sister,  Karen Coburn of Ironton; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and host of friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  To offer the family online condolences, please visit www.tracybrammerfh.com.

 

 

Barbara Shea

Barbara I. (Washburn) Shea, 89, of Dayton, was called home suddenly Wednesday March 4, 2015.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nellie Hunt; her husbands, Calvin Washburn and Joseph P. Shea; and two brothers, John W. Hunt and Robert M. Hunt.  She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Washburn of Dayton; her son Frederick J.( and Eileen) Washburn of Beckley, West Virginia; two granddaughters, Ashley Washburn of Huntington, West Virginia and Melanie (Kevin) Martin of Burke, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, William Washburn of Ironton.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave.  There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Thomas Gaeke officiating. Burial in Dayton National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

 

 

Sharon Lewis

April 3, 1949-March 3, 2015

Sharon Kay Lewis, 65, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. The Williamson, West Virginia, native was born April 3, 1949, a daughter of the late Jack Lewis and Sylvia Adkins DiMarzo.

Sharon was a graduate of Ironton High School and was an administrative assistant/secretary for several companies and corporations for 20 years. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Orange Park and was active in the 4H Educational Program.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, Christopher Palmer; two brothers, Jack E. Lewis and Ward B. Lewis; granddaughter, Sophia Mestrich; and nephew, Ward B. Lewis II.

Sharon in survived by two daughters, Diana Mestrich and Rebekah Everhart both of Orange Park; two brothers, James E. Lewis and Thomas R. (Nancy) Lewis, both of Ironton; stepfather; Sandy J. Dimorzo of Ashland; two sisters-in-law, Barbara S. Lewis of Reynoldsburg and Sherry M. Lewis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and four grandchildren, Tabatha Mestrich, Gracy Mestrich, Miranda Everhart and Kayleb Everhart.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Terry Jones and pastor Willard Metz officiating. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery.
