The rainbow of balloons drifted up to the sky Monday morning as students from the Open Door School launched a month of activities to bring awareness of those with developmental disabilities.

The balloon launch is the traditional start to the month.

The next event will be the 5K run at The Point in South Point on Saturday. That will be followed by the chili fest and craft show on Saturday, March 14, and the March Madness basketball game on Tuesday, March 24.

“By bringing people and organizations of the community together with the DD population, we can accomplish the immense task of having fun and enjoying our community as a whole,” DD superintendent Paul Mollett said.
