Theft by deception — South Point, Dec. 15, woman alleged she gave suspect $1,010 to buy iPhones for her but he took the money without buying the phones; negative contact with suspect.

Grand theft — 90 block County Road 104, Chesapeake, Dec. 15, handgun taken from vehicle.

Petty theft — 200 block Township Road 1302, Chesapeake, Dec. 15, laptop and $50 taken from vehicle.

Arson, vandalism — 30 block Township Road 1178, Chesapeake, Dec. 16, man reported someone had thrown a flammable and burning substance in the bed of his truck; fire broke back window, scorched the paint on the truck and burned tools that were in the bed of the truck.

Petty theft — 300 block Township Road 1302, Chesapeake, Dec. 17, checks taken from vehicle.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle — County Road 107, Proctorville, Dec. 17, work truck taken by employee and not returned.

Theft — 1900 block County Road 15, South Point, Dec. 16, man alleged he loaned out a drive ratchet that was not returned; reported other items from his out building stolen.

Theft — 300 block Third Ave., Chesapeake, Dec. 12, bank reported $9,999 missing from drawer; employee named as suspect has not returned to work and has moved.
