Dorothy Johnson

Dec. 4, 1931 — Dec. 1, 2014

 

Dorothy Johnson, 82, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at a local health care facility. The Buchtel native was born Dec. 4, 1931, the daughter of the late August and Mary Young Fiddler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Teddy James Johnson, who passed away Oct. 18, 2010.

Mrs. Johnson attended school in Nelsonville and was a former cashier for Phar-Mor. She was also in the foster grandparent program, worked with handicapped adults, loved to read and be on Facebook.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Fiddler.

She is survived by three daughters, Peggy (Jeff) Mayper, of Houston, Texas, Debra (Jesse) Bentley, of Ironton, and Mary Jane Johnson, of Daytona Beach, Florida; a son, Fred (Carrie) Johnson, of New Marshfield; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Joy Davis

Joycelyn (Joy) Davis, 90, of South Point, passed away peacefully Wednesday Dec. 3, 2014, in Columbus at Kobacker Hospice House.

A devoted mother, wife and homemaker, she was retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church in South Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Davis.

She is survived by son, Dwayne (Christine) Davis.

A memorial service will take place at Cornerstone Church in South Point at in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.

 

 

Mary Miller

Mary Anne Bame Miller, 78, of Miller, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at home. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

 

 

John Jeffers

John Pete Jeffers, 81, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at home. He is survived by his wife, Linda Jeffers. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory. Dezer B. Cameron, 79, of Ironton, died Dec. 3, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Debra Winters

Debra Jean Winters, 61, of Ashland, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be noon on Friday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with brother Kenneth Conn officiating.
