Defendants make court appearances

Defendants recently indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury appeared on Wednesday in common pleas court to answer the charges against them, while others admitted their crimes and were sentenced.
• Joseph Brewer, 57, of 561 County Road 171, Scottown, was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation for two counts of fourth-degree trafficking in drugs, to which he previously pleaded guilty.
Judge D. Scott Bowling also sentenced the man to 200 hours community service, a $5,000 fine and a six-month driver’s license suspension.
• Andrew Johnston, 29, of 2793 County Road 17, South Point, pleaded guilty to counts of third-degree failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer, fourth-degree receiving stolen property and misdemeanor DUI. Misdemeanor counts of possession of drug abuse instruments and driving under suspension were dismissed.
Bowling set sentencing for Nov. 19.
• Ashley Cremeans, 25, of 6774 Mud River Road, Barboursville, West Virginia, was arraigned on a count of fifth-degree possession of drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $2,500 cash or surety and $10,000 own-recognizance. A pretrial was set for Dec. 10.
• James Bailey, 34, of 704 Lane St., Coal Grove, was arraigned on counts of fifth-degree possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 cash or surety and $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Nov. 19.
• Jason Hudson, 40, of 1599 Township Road 158, Chesapeake, was arraigned on a count of fourth-degree receiving stolen property, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Bowling set bond at $5,000 cash or surety and OR and set a pretrial for Nov. 19.
• Timothy McComas, 29, of 88 Township Road 1027, South Point, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP for a fourth-degree count of domestic violence, to which he previously pleaded guilty. Bowling also ordered the man to complete 200 hours of community service and issued a protection order for the victim.
• Kevin Taylor, 28, of 1075 Oak Hill Branch Road, South Webster, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to five months in prison.
• Joshua Fulton, 21, of 18023 State Route 243, Chesapeake, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP for a count of fifth-degree breaking and entering, to which he previously pleaded guilty. Bowling also ordered to man to complete 200 hours community service and pay $971 in restitution.
• Eric Lezu, 47, of 1435 County Road 411, Proctorville, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin and a misdemeanor count of possession of drugs. Bowling set sentencing for Nov. 12.
• James Morris, 39, of 6284 County Road 6, Ironton, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree count of DUI. Bowling ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Dec. 3.
• Bradley Thacker, 19, of 71 Private Drive 4765 State Route 7, Chesapeake, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP for a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering, to which he previously pleaded guilty. Bowling also ordered him to complete 200 hours community service and pay $971 in restitution.
•Kristopher Garretson, 24, of 155 Coleman Hill Road, Hamlin, West Virginia, was arraigned on fifth-degree counts of illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordinance or illegal possession of object indistinguishable from a firearm into a school safety zone and possession of drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Bowling set bond at $2,500 cash or surety and $5,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Dec. 10.
• Randy G. Vaughn II, 31, of 1157 Bloss Branch Road, Lavalette, West Virginia, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $2,500 cash or surety and $5,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Nov. 19.
• Jeremy Boll, 26, of 369 Township Road 332, Ironton, pleaded guilty to a third-degree count of endangering children. Judge Charles Cooper set sentencing for Nov. 19.
• Terry Dolin, 57, of 4561 Blankenship Road, Huntington, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond a $2,500 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Nov. 19.
• Jessica Green, 23, of 151 Maple Grove Road, Gallipolis, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of complicity to theft, to which she pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $2,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Nov. 19.
• Stuart Wolfe, of 275 N. Third St., Apt. 916, Ironton, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP for a count of fourth-degree disrupting public service, to which he previously pleaded guilty.
