Ohio University Southern Dean Dr. Nicole Pennington wants to become part of students’ morning routine.
Dr. Pennington begins her three-part “Doughnuts with the Dean” discussions for students at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Caucus Room of the OUS Academic Center.
Pennington describes these “delightful discussions” as another way to connect with her students. Free coffee, juice and doughnuts will be provided to students.
“I was looking to give students the opportunity to connect with their leader in a fun and relaxed atmosphere,” Pennington said. “We want to know how we are doing and this is an opportunity to listen to students and take what they say and makes things better.”
The hour-long question-and-answer forums will also take place the mornings of Thursday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 9.
“It looks to be a lot of fun and well attended,” Shelly Betz, OUS marketing and public information officer, said. “Students can ask her whatever comes to their minds.”
Accessibility is important to Pennington.
“If a student shows up at my office and wants to talk I do it if I possibly can,” she said. “I believe students place a lot of value on that accessibility and we ant them to be happy and be the best recruiters Ohio University Southern has.”
