Finders Keepers, a variety store that had been located on Fourth Street in Ironton, has moved to South Third Street beside Tim’s News and Novelty.
The store is owned by Wilma Dunaway, who previously owned another store in Russell, Ky. Dunaway said that Ironton is a wonderful city and a great location for her current shop.
“I think Ironton is a great little city,” she said. “It really is full of nice people and is the perfect spot for a store like mine because the people in the city seem to really appreciate variety.”
Dunaway started her entrepreneurship as a flea-marketer and discovered she had a skill for turning items for a profit. She also found she enjoyed selling the type of goods that she would want to own herself.
“I just enjoy finding things and sharing them with other people,” Dunaway said. “I buy the things I like, and I like variety. So I have a little bit of everything in this store.”
Finders Keepers has been at its new location for a few months now, but Dunaway said many people were unaware the store had moved.
“We have people come in here all the time who say they didn’t know that we had moved,” she said. “Hopefully more and more people we’ll realize I’m down here. This is a great spot and downtown is really nice.”
