HANGING ROCK — A Lucasville woman is in the Lawrence County Jail following an arrest by Hanging Rock Police.

At 12:02 p.m. Wednesday Capt. Travis Euton of the Hanging Rock force, pulled over a 2003 Pontiac two-door car. On running the plate the officer determined that the driver, Lucy L. Parker, 54, was driving on a suspended license.

“When he was inventorying the vehicle because it was going to be towed, that is when drugs were found,” Chief Chris Steed of the Hanging Rock Police, said.

A plastic bag of meth and a glass smoking pipe were found in a child’s stuffed ladybug toy. There were no children in the car but a male passenger was not charged.

Parker now faces charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, having drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, and driving on a suspended license, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Parker will be arraigned on Thursday in the Ironton Municipal Court of Judge O. Clark Collins.
