2 arrests net drugs, $20K cash

A South Point couple is in the Lawrence County Jail following their arrest for trafficking in drugs.
John H. Dameron, 73, and Doris J. Dameron, 63, of 51 Township Road 510 North South Point, were arrested on Tuesday. John Dameron, with the assistance of Doris, allegedly sold oxycodone tablets to a confidential informant in the days leading up the execution of the search warrant, according to Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson.
The search warrant was executed by the Lawrence County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force.
The search revealed numerous pills to include oxycodone, morphine sulfate, xanax, methadone, and suboxone with an estimated street value of $25,000, according to Anderson. More than $20,000 cash, one assault rifle, eight handguns firearms and a large quantity of power tools was also seized from the residence.
The Damerons are each charged with trafficking in drugs a felony of the second degree. They will be arraigned Friday morning in the Lawrence County Municipal Court in Chesapeake.
