Bernice Rickard
Bernice L. Rickard, 80, of South Point, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her residence surrounded by family. Bernice was born March 28, 1934, in South Point, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Nancy Freeman Butcher. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Rickard; and eight siblings. Bernice is survived by her husband, James F. Rickard; four children; Deby (Hank) Craft, Zane Rickard, Jay (Marilyn) Rickard, and Tex Rickard; her daughter-in-law, Jane Rickard; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nate DeLong, Jimmy Delong, Josh Rickard, Brady Rickard, Jane Rickard and Hank Craft. Dale Redmond
Dale Edward Redmond, 53, formerly of Ironton, passed away May 8, 2014, in Indianapolis, Ind., after an extended illness. He was the son of the late James (Jim) and Harriett Redmond, of Ironton.
He is survived by a son, Dale Aaron Redmond Crace, of Franklin Furnace; two brothers, David and Bea Wickline, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Randy and Kristy Redmond, of Pedro; two sisters, Sandra Thornton, of Ironton and Jan and Roger Dillon, of Bowling Green, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Debbie Wickline, of Bowling Green, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene “Butch” Wickline and James “Buzz” Redmond; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Thornton, of Ironton.
Graveside services were held at Woodland Cemetery.
Danny Gregory
Danny Lee Gregory, 78, of London, formerly of Ashland Ky., died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home by Jeff Ferguson. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.mfhfuneralhome.com.
Gregory Ainsworth
Gregory Alan Ainsworth, 53, of Elizabethtown, Ky., passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, Ky. He is survived by his mother, Karlene Ainsworth, of Ironton, and his father, Bill Ainsworth of Ironton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ryan Ainsworth. Funeral services were Monday, May 19, 2014.
Jhonda Miller
Jhonda Ann Miller, 38, of Ironton, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Danny M. Miller.
There will be private family services.

William Spanner
William Henry Spanner, 79, of Ironton, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. The Ironton native was born Nov. 24, 1934, the son of the late William J. and Gertrude Dilley Spanner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis C. Spanner, whom he married May 22, 1954.
Mr. Spanner was a 1952 graduate of Ironton High School and was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He was a former employee of Allied Signal for more than 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member and former deacon of Central Christian Church, where he was active in the food pantry.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela and Mike Rist, of Ironton, and Kristi and Jimmy Caudill, of Canton; seven grandchildren, Lauren Harvey, Leslie Rist, Ryan Rist, Mikayla Rist, Brent McBride, Brandon McBride and Blake McBride; and four great-grandchildren, Lucas White, Laiken White, Leah White and Liam White
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with minister Phil Lemaster officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites by the VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Thelma Brammer
Thelma E. Brammer, 83, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. The Franklin Furnace native was born March 23, 1931, a daughter of the late Blaine and Bertha Stapleton Prince.
Thelma was a former hairdresser at The Carousel in Ironton and worked for the Lawrence County Group Home. She loved spending time with her family and attending Tuesday evening church services at Unity Square.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Brammer, who passed away in January of 1992; daughter, Rita Browning; a great-granddaughter; and five brothers and sisters, Elly Daniels, Myrtle Davisson, Pearl Robinson, Earl Prince and Stairl Prince.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Danny Gibson, of Catlettsburg, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Daniel Layne, of South Point; four grandchildren, Stacie Scarberry, of Crawfordville, Fla., Jonathan Gibson, of Ashland, Amy Browning-Hill, of Minford, and Kelsie Layne-Caudill, of South Point; and five great-grandchildren.
