Fruth Pharmacy, formerly Staley’s Pharmacy at 217 S. Third St. in Ironton, is requesting assistance from the public to obtain pictures of veterans.
For many years, Staley’s Pharmacy posted pictures of military heroes in the store’s windows for display during the Ironton Memorial Day Parade.
Fruth Pharmacy is continuing the tradition.
“It is a great way to honor the members of our military for their sacrifices and services to our country,” Karen Huff, store manager, said. “Memorial Day is a holiday that I personally, take very seriously. If not for our military, we would not enjoy the freedoms that we have today. I am very thankful for the past, present and future service of our military men and women.”
Fruth is also asking other businesses to participate in this tradition.
“My wish would be on Memorial Day that the entire parade route has pictures of our military heroes in their windows for all to see,” Huff said.
To assist Fruth, drop off a copy of your loved one’s military photo to the South Third Street location before Memorial Day on May 26, or mail it to 217 S. Third St., Ironton, OH 45638.
Please include the person’s name, branch of service, years of service and hometown, if possible.
