CHILLICOTHE — An emergency contract has been awarded for the repair of a landslide and pavement slip on State Route 522 in Lawrence County.
Crews from DGM, Incorporated started construction to repair a slip near the route’s 5.20-mile marker, between County Road 41 (Buckhorn-Superior Road) and County Road 27 (Little Pine Creek Road), where the pavement and shoulder have been comprised along the west side of Lawrence-522.
DGM was awarded a Type A Emergency contract on Friday, May 9, after engineers from the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning and Engineering Department conducted field reviews of the site, determined the need for emergency repairs and outlined a project.
The Emergency A contract allows ODOT to expedite the project through its construction department, and contractors can begin work immediately.
With the route already restricted, traffic will continue to be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals throughout construction.
