PROCTORVILLE — The fifth annual Women’s Resource Fair will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday at Ohio University Southern Proctorville Center.
The purpose of the fair is bringing community and university resources beneath one roof so they are accessible for women – and men – as they manage their home and personal lives while furthering their education.
“We had a nontraditional student who realized her fellow female students were unaware of everything available to them,” Stephanie Burcham, director of the Proctorville Center, said. “The event is student led and involves the participation of various organizations.”
The fair is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the community. There will be hourly door prize drawings.
The resource fair will feature community resources, health and lifestyle information, job and career resources and demonstrations from Workforce Development Resource Center, Rape Crisis Center, Lawrence County Head Start, Appalachian Families, Veteran’s Outreach, St. Mary’s Women’s health, Studio 8 yoga studio, American Health Centers, Branches WIC, River Cities United Way, Birthright, US Bank, Teresa McKenzie with OUS accessibility services, City National Bank and Mary Kay.
